    SACHET Earthquake Relief Hospital, Banigala

SACHET established an earthquake Relief field Hospital at Banigala which has provided quality health care to the patients mainly women and children transferred from Govt. tertiary care facilities like PIMS.

By doing this, some of the pressure has thus been released from PIMS and other facilities. Secondly, with this facility patients are getting individual attention of Medical doctors and nurses. This would not be possible at PIMS and other hospitals due to heavy influx of patients.

This initiative so far has been supported by SACHET with the contribution of local philanthropists. To meet the challenging tasks falling under the domain of health service delivery program, SACHET would require Technical and financial support from International and national organizations.

    • Banigala, is located at a distance of 18 kilometers from SACHET on the road leading to the National Institute of Health, was chosen for the establishment of SACHET's third free clinic launched on February 1, 2001.

    • The project catchment area is spread out in a hilly terrain consisting of five villages with a population of 35,000.

    • SACHET has converted its Clinic at Banigala into Earthquake Relief field Hospital on 14th of October, 2005
