    Men's Special

    Introduction:

Man is the special personality to be discussed in this program. It is a really a unique and different issue. Gender watch team has tried to find out that whether male of our society is also facing problems? Are they also victims of gender gap? And what is the concept of masculinity?

Society is running by the efforts of both males and females. Usually concept is that "man is problem free." He can do whatever he wants to do. In real it is just a misconception nothing else.

    Interviews and ideas:

Interviews have been taken from both the males and females in this regard. Interviews of the important personalities of all fields like Hamid Mir (journalist), Jamal Shah (actor), Imran Rizvi, Dr. Matti Ullah, Dr. Faisal, Mr. Zia Ud Din (journalist), Dr. Anees Ahmad and many others are included. Side by side views and ideas of the people on road are also included. Their views are as follows:

Screen Shot of Gender WatchThey said that male member in a family is the one who has to support his whole family economically and socially. He has to make the standard of life. At a same time, he has to play a lot of roles like father, son, husband, brother etc. All members of family have so much expectations from the man, he seems to be always in struggle for the fulfillment of these expectations and these expectations always put him in a stress and mental tension. He has always to do work for his family, and also has to provide security. If he get failed to do so, no one accepts him

They said that as in our society it is considered that man is very much superior. Dr. Anees Ahmad has given the concept of masculinity accordingly to Islam. He said that In real sense masculinity is the loyalty, respect and to full fill the rights and duties in a right way. But here in our society qualities of masculinity are considered as to beat his wife, never be friendly with children. The concept of masculinity is never taken in a right manner, so the minds of our males because of the basic conservative customs and thinking, minds of our males also developed in negative way. His mind develops in a way that masculinity means to act as a wild man, be cruel with his wife, and just to deliver order and his wife has to obeyed him. If he want to do any domestic work, people including his own family members that its not the work meant for you, after all you are a man. Its all is just a fault of our thinking. These all things growing on in his mind from the beginning and at the end becomes the part of his personality, he starts to think his self as superior and female as inferior.

Man has to face different problems at different stages but he can't share them with anyone just because he is a "man."

Dr. Matti Ullah and Dr. Faisal said that all such above things are the causes for the mental stress for a man, that's why men are mostly the victims of such diseases like heart attack, paralysis etc.

Amjad Ali shah (field worker) said that society couldn't run smoothly without the involvement of both man and woman. Usually it is seen that all programs developed are women's problems based, we can take the example of family planning program in this reference. In this program, participation and involvement of males is too much necessary, but they are always ignored. He told that family planning program is just taken as a matter of women, it is the only reason for the failure of family planning program. Many others issues of health, all are just focusing on women. That's why we can't achieve our objectives. In our society, man is a decision-maker than how can be these programs get success without his involvement.
