    Gender and Poverty

    Introduction:

In the start of program they give the basic definition of poverty. When basic needs of life can't be fulfilled that is called as "poverty." Like shelter, food and money are considered as basic needs. They tried to find out what are the reasons for so much poverty in Pakistan and how gender gap is involved in this context.

    Interviews and ideas:

Interviews from the poor people, old people, young generation and important personalities are included. They said that lack of opportunities is because of poverty and overpopulation. Especially in rural areas, power elite has their own vested interests so they never want the lower class or poor people to come up and be progressed and developed.

People are migrating towards cities to get better opportunities but it is not a solution, it is another problem. Due to urbanization many other problem are arising like congestion areas, pollution, lack of sanitation and lack of clear and purified water etc.

By the matter of gender women are much poorer then males, reason is, male can do any work but uneducated women has nothing to do, again education is necessary

When basic needs of life especially nutritional needs can't be fulfilled, health problem arises. In rural areas, mostly people are malnourished, they can't get balanced diet and other basic necessities just because of poverty. Lack of education is a most important factor in increased poverty.
