    Children's Special

In this program the "children of Pakistan" are the topic of discussion.

How the gender difference and class difference effects the children's growth, their life styles and their personalities.

Screen Shot of Gender WatchIn our society gender difference started from the birth of a child. If new born is baby boy, parents celebrate their happiness that they get on birth of baby boy. But the case is opposite if new born is a baby girl. Some families take is as the matter of sadness, and some shows just a normal behavior. The question is why is it so?

It happens mostly in poor families. The reason is that they want son for their economic betterment, to raise their standard of life. This economic problem sometimes takes them to jail, and there is no one to support them and to take them out from the jail. There they developed criminal nature.

Child labor is very common. The children of very small ages are engaged in such activities like car washing and many other labor works. It is just because they have to share the burden of their parents. In poor families, children are struggling to full fill the basic need, that is food.

In this program, interviews have been taken from the children who are not going school and are working. They told that they want to be educated, but they have no money to pay for fee. They have to look after their large families.

Another problem is with the children who are aggressive by nature and are indulged in criminal activities. It is all because what they get from the environment of their homes, from their parents and from their company. If parents are fighting and abused each other in front of their children, it put very bad effect on their minds. So we should keep in mind the psychological nourishment while building up the character and personality of our children.

Children violence is another serious matter to think. The general concept is that unknown people violate children, but the matter of fact is that they are mostly violated by their parents, relatives or by people at their work places. According to statistics, in 1999, 75% were known people to the children who violated them.

According to another research, in 1999, 945 children were the victims of sexual violence; means 3 children are being sexually violated per day.

Sexual violence with children is very common in jails by the criminals. So such policy should be developed that the children should not be leave with the criminals there in jails. Because living of children with professional criminals leads to not only sexual violence but also psychological violence.

The problem facing by female children are more as compare to male child in poor families. It is seen that all the problems are just for the children of poor families. They can't even get proper food on time. They can't get education. The reason is just their poverty.

In poor families, usually parents give very less attention to their daughters. They are mostly mal nourished. Mostly they started domestic work from the age of 9 to 10 years. At the age of 15 to 16 years, they have been married and in 17 to 18 years they becomes mother of a child. As they are already mal nourished and the marriage in so early age increases it, so they give birth to mal nourished children and another phase of problems is started.

According to a research, 10 Lac children every year runaway from their homes. Another research in 1997 shows that 7 million children never go to school, 54% are girls from them.

All these above are the problems, which are faced by the innocent children. These are the children that are our future generation. Which are responsible for our future building and development. If they will not get healthy nourishment of their personalities, how is it possible to have good hope for our future? So we all have to think about it, we all have to work together for the solution of innocent children problems.
