This program is about the problems of old age. Old age is the stage of life, from which every person is scared. But it is the fact that every one has to pass from this stage. It is the stage in which you can't help yourself, you need others help and support. You have to be dependent on others economically and in all other matters of life on your children.
The case is totally different for the poor old people. They have to do work even in old age of rest to fulfill their needs. Gender difference is also there in old age. Old male has to suffer more than an old female. The reason is that usually their children are much more attached to their mothers, so they spend their much of time with their mothers and neglected their fathers. " Loneliness" is the main problem, which the old people have to face. But as mentioned above victim of loneliness are mostly male old people. In our society luckily it is responsibility of children to take care of their old parents not to send them to old houses. Concept of old houses is not yet being accepted in our society. Daughters give care and attention to their parents and sons are responsible for both providing economic support and care. Old women usually have to face more health problems as compare to males. They have to perform reproductive duty, domestic duty and economic duty, so they get much health problems in old age. Menopause is the problem with females started from the age of above 45 years. Because of menopause they have to face a lot of other health problems like depression, stroke, breast cancer, heart attack. Old men mostly suffer from heart diseases, kidney infections and lung cancer if they are smokers. |
