    Dr M S Jillani

    Dr. M.S. Jillani was born in 1933 at Jullundher (British India) and migrated to Pakistan in 1947. He earned his Master's degree in Economic from Government College, Lahore in 1955 and his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago in 1957-60. He is a former University Lecturer in Economics at the Punjab University, Head of the Department of Sociology at the University of Karachi, Chief, Economic Group and Additional Secretary Pakistan Planning Commission, Head of Economic Advisor's Wing, Ministry of Finance, Chief (Director), Technical Cooperation Division at the United Nations ESCAP, Federal Secretary to the Government of Pakistan and Executive Director, the National Institute of Population Studies, Islamabad. He is currently President of the Population Association of Pakistan, for the term ending December 2002. He is married and lives at Islamabad.
