Promoting Responsible and Healthy Behaviors (PRHB) is one of the fundamental projects of SACHET. The project is being carried out in seven slum areas of Islamabad. All the activities carried out in the target communities have been designed in accordance and in line with the objectives set out at the beginning of the project.

As per objectives, several activities were carried out between 5th and 12th July, 2007 in different communities. A meeting was held at 48 quarters in which the CHC and Youth Network from the community and members of the PRHB team participated. The people welcomed the PRHB team and discussed their health issues with the team. They also shared their ideas and gave valuable suggestions to improve the quality of services at the PHCO. A meeting was also arranged with the CHC members of Hansa. The members showed keen interest in the work done by SACHET, appreciated their efforts and expressed their willingness to offer full cooperation in all future activities. A Deworming camp was also arranged at 66 quarters on the 12th of July. Some 370 children were given Deworming medicines followed by fruit juices. 5 volunteers from the community helped the SACHET team very actively in setting up the camp, enrolling the children and administering the medicine to the children. The community gave suggestions for the improvement of such camps in future.On 13th July, the team visited Alipur Farash, where the members of the Community Health Committee welcomed the team. They expressed their views about the work being done by SACHET and offered their full support and cooperation for all heath promoting activities in future as well.

The quarterly meeting of the seven community health committees with the PRHB team was held on 24th July, 2007 at the SACHET Head Office. All the communities participated in the meeting very actively and gave valuable suggestions to the PRHB team for the improvement of services and activities in the target communities. The PRHB team reassured the participants that SACHET would continue to improve its work in the seven communities with their support, which has always been there from the communities.
