Year 2015
- Health Management Information System (HMIS) at SACHET recorded that 26,240 patients were provided free medical care for both communicable and non-communicable diseases during the year at SACHET Community Health Centres located in Lakhwal Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali in Islamabad Capital Territory and Pathar Garh in District Attock. Highest patient turnover was observed at SACHET Community Health Centre at Gagri where a total number of 7,146 patients were treated. Of all the patients treated, 10,215 were registered Zakat mustahiqeen at all four health care centres.
- In January 2015, SACHET joined hands with Directorate of Health Services (DHS) CDA Islamabad to form a consortium as a public private partnership with an objective to initiate universal health coverage program as a part of its health equity model for the inhabitants of Islamabad Capital Territory. SACHET deputed 12 skilled vaccinators for the Anti-Measles Campaign in Islamabad Capital Territory and 12,000 children were vaccinated till Feb 2015 in the localities of Bari Imam, Rawal dam, Rawal Town, Staff colonies of PM House, KPK House, Punjab House, Sindh House and Wapda House.
- Under Dr. A. Q. Khan Scholarship project, a total number of 14 deserving students (6 Male and 8 Female) from local communities of Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathar Garh were provided financial assistance for the educational expenses during the year.
- Under computer training project, 88 students (56 boys and 32 girls) were provided training on basic computing, advance computing and hardware operations and maintenance.
- On May 30, 2015, SACHET inaugurated another Computer Training and Literacy Centre especially for girls at SCDP Pathargarh, Hasanabdal District Attock. The Centre is fully equipped with 10 workstations and headed by a female computer instructor. First group of 15 girls were enrolled for three months basic course.
- Under Vocational Training Project a number of 442 female community members were provided trainings on cutting, sewing, stitching, embroidery and preparation of decoration items. The centers are located at SACHET Community Development Program Units in Pinyali, Gagri and Pathar Garh.
- Under community awareness activities, a total number of 183 Mehfils (128 Behnan Di Mehfils, 55 Bharawan Di Mehfils) were organized at all four SCDPs (SACHET Community Development Program) in Rawalpindi, Attock and Islamabad district on regular basis. In these sessions a total number of 1738 community members (1188 women, 550 men) participated. These Mehfils included session on Family planning, safe motherhood, health and hygiene, Hepatitis, HIV and AIDS, child education especially for girls, environment, violence against women including dowry violence.
- To commemorate 16 Days of Activism, SACHET Pakistan organized an event at head office Islamabad on 24 Nov 2014. Renowned poet, intellectual and activist, Ms. Kishwar Naheed graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Prominent activists like Ms.Tahira Abdullah, Ms. Naheed Aziz, Ms. Aqsa Khan, and Ms. Arifa Mazher, representatives from leading NGOs in Islamabad, media and academia also honored the event by their presence. Candles were kindled to acknowledge the unsung heroes in struggle against terrorism, violence and abuses, to remember the victims of rape, child abuses, dowry violence, domestic violence, honor killing, harassment at work places, acid attacks, incest and trafficking and to empathize with the sufferings of IDPs from FATA, people of Thar and religious minorities in Pakistan. SACHET Pakistan believes in power of passion and continues to promote awareness on women and human rights with indigenous perspectives.
- “One Billion Rising Campaign 2015” SACHET organized a small community event at SACHET Community Development Program Unit office in village Pinyali, Rawalpindi District on Jan 25, 2015. The event was attended by 21 community leaders (women and men).
- SACHET was one of the partners of British Council to implement Active Citizen Program in three districts i.e. Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock. SACHET team successfully completed 10 agreed workshops and two community events in three districts. In these workshops 263 (122 boys, 144 girls) received 5 days extensive training on Active Citizen Program in three districts. The trained activists developed and implemented around 26 SAPs (Social Action Projects) in their respective districts.The main objective of workshops was to provide awareness about SAP (Social Action Projects) and encourage youth (girls and boys) to take part in the development of their communities, identification of their social issues and encourage them to run SAP effectively in their communities.
- A community event was organized by SACHET at SCDP Pinyali in tehsil Kahuta on March 30, 2015 in collaboration with British Council under Active Citizen Program to showcase the Social Action Projects of trained youth groups from three districts. Around 200 individuals including trainees of Active Citizen Program, political leaders, community representatives, religious leaders, government representatives, parents and teachers participated in the event.
Year 2014
- SACHET Pakistan being the newly elected National Secretariat of PRHN, organized the NWG (National Working Group) meeting on June 5 2014 at SACHET Head Office in Islamabad. In this meeting and capacity building workshop, focal persons from 12 chapters of PRHN from all over Pakistan showed their participation on behalf of their chapters. Guest speakers during the workshop included Ms. Anne Keeling- Country representative of UNFPA, Mr. Qadeer Baig- Country Director RWPF, Mr. Abdul Basit Khan- Executive Director NIPS and Dr. Shafqat Shaikh – Director General Ministry of National Health Services.n addition to this Ms. Tahira Abdullah (Reproductive Health expert and Human Rights activist), Yasmin Zaidi (Gender Expert), Ms Khawar Mumtaz (Chair National Commission on Status of Women) representatives of Civil Society Organizations and founding members of PRHN attended the meeting. Ms. Tahira Abdullah (Founding member of PRHN), presented a meaningful and thought provoking presentation on status of RH related Issues, challenges, constitutional Rights and Liberties, Civil Society initiatives for RH, legislations and bills.
- A Policy Dialogue was organized in collaboration with DoSTI-YAN (Dare to sensitize, Train and Inform Youth and Adolescents Advocacy Network) and Alternative Perspectives and with the support of Plan International, Pakistan on October 2, 2013 at SACHET Head Office Islamabad. The objective of the policy dialogue was to identify issues, needs, challenges and contribute suggesting realistic actions which are needed for the improvement of education (formal and non-formal) in Pakistan with respect to adolescent’s need.
- Under community awareness activities, a total number of 88 Mehfils (44 Behnan Di Mehfil, 44 Bharawan Di Mehfil) were organized at all SCDPs (SACHET Community Development Program) on regular basis. In these sessions a total number of 890 community members (399 Male, 491 Female) participated. These Mehfils included session on safe motherhood, health and hygiene, Hepatitis, HIV and AIDS, child education especially for girls, environmental.
- As per HMIS (Health Management Information System), a total number of 29,414 patients have been provided free medical care for both communicable and non-communicable diseases at SACHET health centres located in Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathar Garh. Of all the patients treated, 13,174 were registered Zakat mustahiqeen benefitted who were provided free clinical services as well as 100% free medicines at all four health care centres of SACHET at Banigala, Pinyali, Gagri and Pathargarh.
- Under Scholarship project, a total number of 14 deserving students (6 Male and 8 Female) from local communities of Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathar Garh were provided financial assistance for the educational expenses during the year.
- Under computer training project, 157 students (105 boys and 52 girls) were provided training on basic computing, advance computing and hardware operations and maintenance.
- Under vocational training project a number of 738 female community members were provided training on cutting, sewing, stitching, embroidery and preparation of decoration items. The centers are located at SCDP Pinyali, Gagri and Pathar Garh.
Year 2013
- Implemented a project “Advocacy and Information Dissemination Campaign” under Gender Equity Programme (grant cycle 6 A) of Aurat Foundation by the support of the American People through United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The project was implemented in five target districts of Punjab: Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Mandi Bhauddin, Sargodha and Khushab including the provincial head quarter Lahore. Under this campaign SACHET disseminated the information on pro-women legislating, promoted GEP supported shelters and help lines and also sensitized women to participate in the political process by casting their vote.
- Under RHIA (Reproductive Health Initiative with Adolescents), a total number of 1,679 adolescents have been registered in Bari Imam, Islamabad who have been actively involved in activities under RHIA including awareness sessions, trainings, life skill based education, sports etc. Health and environment committees of Bari Imam were also engaged in planning and community mobilization within their communities thus ensuring self sustainability and community ownership.
- AFCs (Adolescent Friendly Centres) are the hub of project activities being undertaken at community level. RHIA has empowered adolescents’ girls and boys, women and men to take self initiatives and gain self confidence. It has provided them access to knowledge and skills and has improved access to reproductive health services. Such activities enable adolescents to act with a sense of responsibility, assertiveness, confidence and active citizenship.
- A policy dialogue on GBV (Gender Based Violence) as a public health issue in Pakistan was organized under Alternative Perspectives, SACHET Pakistan in collaboration with UNFPA to commemorate International Day of women & health day 2013.The policy dialogue was chaired by the Country Representative of UNFPA Mr. Rabbi Royan and moderated by Dr. Rakhshinda Perveen Co-Founder SACHET and founder Alternative Perspectives. The context was based on a research study “Rapid assessment; health sector capacity & response to gender based violence in Pakistan” published by WHO Regional office for the Eastern Mediterranean and UN in 2011.
- SACHET conducted a five day training workshop with 44 adolescent girls (20) and boys (24) from four districts of GB (Gilgit Baltistan) and Chitral (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa) in collaboration with Plan International Pakistan and AKRSP (Aga Khan Rural Support Programme) at Karimabad Hunza, Gilgit Baltistan. The five day training was focused on ASRH messages and information and basics of Interactive Theatre. The training resulted in delivering four interactive theaters with written scripts by the participants.
- As per SACHET Health Management information system (HMIS) for the fiscal year 2012-13, a total number of 30,564 patients received free medical care for communicable and non-communicable diseases at SACHET Community Health Centres, located at Pathargarh, Banigala, Pinyali and Gagri.
- Under Education Program, a total number of 46 deserving students (17 boys and 29 girls) from localities of Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathargarh were provided financial assistance their continuing education.
- Under computer training program, 163 students 96 boys and 67 girls were provided hands on training on basic computing, advance computing and hardware.
- Under vocational training project, 937 females’ community members were given training on cutting, sewing, stitching, and embroidery and on preparation of interior decoration items at the three centers located at Pathargarh, Gagri and Pinyali.
- Under Community Awareness/advocacy programs, 109 Mehfils (Bharawan di Mehfil, Behnan de Mehfil) and 82 individual services were held at all four SACHET Community Development Program (SCDPs) centers, namely Pathargarh, Pinyali, Gagri and Banigala. These Mehfils (seminars) were regularly held in which community members participated and discussed various socio-economic issues faced by the community and ways to solve these issues.
Year 2012
- A number of 38,033 patients have been provided free medical care for both communicable and non-communicable diseases at SACHET Community Health Centres located in Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathar Garh.
- Under community awareness activities, a total number of 90 Mehfils (Behnan Di Mehfil, Bharawan Di Mehfil) and 329 individual sessions were organized at all SCDPs (SACHET Community Development Program) Units on regular basis. In these sessions a total number of 2,232 community members participated.
- Under computer training project, 332 students (261 boys and 71 girls) were provided training on basic computing, advance computing and hardware expertise.
- Under vocational training project a number of 236 female community members were provided training on cutting, sewing, stitching, embroidery and preparation of decoration items. The centers are located at SCDP Pinyali, Gagri and Pathar Garh.
- Under Scholarship project, a total number of 61 deserving students (26 Male and 35 Female) from local communities of Banigala, Gagri, Pinyali and Pathar Garh were provided financial assistance for the educational expenses during the year.
- At YFC (Youth friendly centre) Banigala, a number of 4,715 visits made by the local youth to get recreational services including library, cricket, badminton, volley ball and carom board.
- RHIA (Reproductive Health Initiative with Adolescents) project was up-scaled to 06 wards in Bari Imam, Islamabad with focus on increased participation of communities and technical capacity building of adolescents, Health and Environment Committee (HEC), Community Health Promoter (CHPs) and Community Health Educators (CHEs), identification of roles and responsibilities and facilitation of change catalysts in undertaking community mobilization and child centered community development.
- Successfully implemented a project “Addressing Gender Based Violence & promoting Women Rights” under Gender Equity Program (GEP) of Aurat Foundation (AF), by the support of the American People through United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in 10 districts of Punjab (Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Attock, Jhelum, Sargodha Gujrat, Mandi Bhauddin, Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakar).
- Successfully implemented a pilot project, Waseela-e-Sehet Program of Benazir Income Support Program, Government of Pakistan with the assistance of GIZ of Germany in Faisalabad District. Under Benazir Sehat Card campaign, SACHET reached to 39,845 beneficiaries (women) and distributed 33,643 Sehet cards to the selected beneficiaries in 6 tehsils of Faisalabad District in a record time of six weeks followed by an extensive two weeks media campaign using radio and local cable TV.
Year 2011
- SACHET has been providing primary health care services since 1999 at four permanent community health centres located in rural peripheries of Rawalpindi, Attock and Islamabad District. During July 2010 till June 2011, a total number of 47,836 patients received free medical treatment from SACHET’s Community Health Centres. 74% of the total patients were women and children.
- Series of field medical camps were organized in Pathargarh, Hasanabdal and Ali Pur Farash, Rawalpindi with the support of South Korean Medical team, where 1,058 patients (95% children and women) were provided free consultation and medicine by Korean Doctors and specialists.
- In August 2010, the RHIA (Reproductive Health Initiative with Adolescents) Model was replicated and initiated in Bari Imam, Islamabad, an area comprising of 2,300 households striving to obtain legal status of their residences and basic civic amenities. RHIA model has been implemented by SACHET in partnership with Plan International Pakistan in selected rural communities of district Chakwal and Urban slums of Islamabad since 2006.
- Under RHIA Project in Chakwal, a number of 8,260 adolescents (3,855 boys, 4,405 girls) of age 9-19 years were registered and engaged in various activities of RHIA project.
- Under survival kit (Training Program), SACHET provided training opportunity to three (3) fresh university graduates to work with program team at head office and field based community development program units.
- In coordination with Punjab Rural Support Program (PRSP) in Chakwal and Health Directorate Capital Development Authority Islamabad, refresher training was organized on Reproductive Health and management of STI’s for 31 health service providers from public sector.
- Street theaters played a vital role to communicate social issues to the grass root communities. During the year a total number of 20 street theaters were delivered in urban slums of Islamabad and 36 street theaters were organized in rural communities of Chakwal, Rawalpindi and Attock district. Social issues such as HIV & AIDS, Health and Hygiene, Family Planning, Importance of Education were highlighted.
Year 2010
- SACHET free clinics provided health services to around 47,225 patients among whom 73% of the total patients were comprised of women and children.

- Annual Christmas Gala organized for the christian communities of 8 urban slums of Islamabad under RAH (Responsible Actions for Health) Program.
- Annual Rural Youth Summit 2008, organized in Chakwal which was attended by more then 2500 youth (1200 Girls & 1300 boys).
- Libraries project initiated in collaboration with District Management of Islamabad. Under this project three children libraries were established at Bara Kaho, Sohan & Saidpur Village in Islamabad District.

Year 2007
- Launched its own production house in January.
- SACHET Success fully completed the 1st Year of PPARH-Pakistan Program for ARH (Adolescent Reproductive Health) in collaboration with UNFPA for Chakwal. SACHET established 20 Youth Friendly Centers (10 for Girls and 10 for Boys) in 3 Thesils of District Chakwal.
- A widely screened and appreciated documentary “Beyond Judgment” was produced by Dr. Rakhshinda Perveen with the technical support of SACHET to highlight the complex issues of HIV , MSM and institution of marriage in Pakistan . This was a pioneering product in this particular area of AIDS Communication.
- A documentary “From Khyber to Karachi” was produced for FHI (Family Health International) to address problems of the long route truck drivers; their risky behaviors and sexual practices and effects of those practices on associated population .
- Third RHIYA Summit(March 2007) was organized by SACHET with the support of UNFPA to share RHIYA experiences, good practices and to promote MDGs and ARH, at Islamabad.
- Silver Ribbon movement to end dowry violence: SACHET-Pakistan observed 16- days of activism, to end violence against women from November 25-December 10, 2007. The campaign was launched to raise awareness and sensitization among people on the issue of dowry and violence against women& girls.
- SACHET in collaboration with UNFPA and Ministry of Women Development organized a two day National workshop on: “Communicating Gender in Print media” at Islamabad in December.
- SACHET – Pakistan was elected as the focal point for Islamabad chapter of Pakistan Reproductive Health Network PRHN (Pakistan Reproductive Health Network) in December.
- Youth Junction was held in District Chakwal and around 3000 people participated out of which, 1200 were young women and girls in December
- 12 theatrical performances were organized under PRHB (Promoting Responsible Health Behaviors) on the issues of HIV/ AIDS , health awareness and violence against women during from January-February.
Year 2006
- MiRAS (Mobilization of Resources and Sustainability)-SACHET has added another unit on 5th May to mark the seven years of it’s existence.
- Launch of World Bank’s report, “Country Gender Assessment” in which FAD project was acknowledged as an effective advocacy effort for gender empowerment.
- Managing “Women Friendly Spaces and Hammams” project, funded by UNFPA is initiated in District Mansehra.
- Performed at World Social Forum, Karachi on March 21st. It was a shadow Play “Apnay Baitay key naam jou main paida na kar saki- Aik chitthi”, which highlighted the problems of Pakistani women i.e. honor killing, violence and gender discrimination.
- Second national FAD (Fight against Dowry) workshop for change makers of Fight against Dowry Advocacy Network was organized on July 10.
- FADAN (Fight Against dowry Advocacy network) yahoo group was activated to provide an open forum for change makers to share their concerns regarding dowry violence and its correlated issues in Pakistan.
- Second RHIYA (Reproductive Health initiative for Youth in Asia) youth summit was organized from 8-11 July at Islamabad.
- Performed a theatre Play “Totay ki a’ala Taleem- Higher education of the Parrot” on July 09 at the occasion of Second RHIYA youth Summit.
- SACHET initiated a series of seminars on “Islam & ASRH” at district Chakwal.
- SACHET produced two books and brochures on seven reproductive health issues for UNFPA.

Year 2005
- A pilot study on street children and HIV/AIDS with UNESCO done in ten districts of Pakistan.
- A project, “Towards progress: Beijing+ 10 Conference at UN, New York, USA” was done, which was funded by GEP (Gender Equity Program) and British Council.
- SACHET developed advocacy packages on ASRH (adolescent Sexual and reproductive health)
- PRHB (Promoting Responsible Healthy Behaviors) project at Islamabad was initiated in collaboration with PLAN Pakistan.
- Successful completion of the Development & Implementation of BCC (BEHAVIOR CHANGE COMMUNICATION) Strategies & Interventions aimed at Adolescents/Youth in schools/colleges of Rawalpindi/Islamabad project.
- SACHET adopted a regional training manual on HIV/AIDS for enterprise workers and facilitated a two day workshop at Islamabad.
- Four provincial seminars in Multan, Hyderabad, Peshawar and Quetta were organized to sensitize people from different walks of life on the issue of Dowry violence. Around 15, 00 people were sensitized.
- A shadow Play “Apnay Baitay key naam jou main paida na kar saki, Aik chitthi” depicting problems being faced by women in our society, was performed on international women’s Day on March 08 at NIC Auditorium and the same play was also performed at AGEHI Training Hall in front of civil society representatives in the month of April.
- First RHIYA (Reproductive Health initiative for Youth in Asia) Youth summit was organized.
- Performed a shadow Play “Awaara” which highlighted the issues related to youth on May 24 on the occasion of first RHIYA youth summit at Hotel Best western, Islamabad.
- A one day workshop on theatre & modeling techniques for the members of theatre group and YAN (youth advocacy network) was conducted in December.
- World AIDS day was commemorated in collaboration with FHI and other implementing agencies of the BCC project at Islamabad on Dec 08.
- A skit titled” The Youth” depicting behaviors of our youth regarding their health was performed by young volunteers of AGEHI theatre group at the occasion of world AIDS day.

- SACHET participated in an international training workshop on “CSOs Financial Sustainability; Resource Mobilization through Business Activities” held at Bangkok, Thailand.
- Third conference on ASRH (Adolescent sexual and reproductive health) held at Kualalampur, Malaysia was also attended by SACHET Personnel
- Participation in a consultative workshop on “HIV/AIDS & Families” at Thailand from 5-9 December on behalf of SACHET.

Year 2004
- Development & Implementation of BCC (BEHAVIOR CHANGE COMMUNICATION) Strategies & Interventions aimed at Adolescents/Youth in schools/colleges of Rawalpindi/Islamabad project, was initiated in collaboration with FHI (Family Health International)
- RHIYA (Reproductive Health initiative for Youth in Asia) project’s implementation started at District Chakwal.
- First Youth Friendly Center (YFC) at Chakwal was established on August 01.
- First one day national FAD (Fight Against Dowry) workshop for Focal persons of FADAN was organized at Islamabad.
- A shadow Play “Hum Daikhain Gay” on the issue of Discriminatory laws and violence against women was performed on the occasion of national women’s day on 12th of February at community centre Aaabpara, Islamabad.
- A theatre Play “Marz se Nafrat aur Mareez se Dosti” on the topic of HIV/AIDS was performed in Islamabad on July 28.
- Three theatre workshops and trainings were arranged for the members of AGEHI theatre group in this year.
- World AIDS day was commemorated by organizing a Dosti Talent Show for the youth of rural and urban areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi.
- A platform of RHIYA youth junction was formed to provide an opportunity to the young people to come together and to share their views on reproductive health. First Junction was organized at Chakwal where 500 young boys and girls for the first time in history of Chakwal come together to highlight ASRH issues.
- Training was conducted on KMS (Knowledge Management system” in collaboration with UNFPA.
- A Training Manual was developed on Advocacy on ASRH.
- Project coordinator, RHIYA project represented Pakistan as a team leader of Pakistani delegation on International Youth summit held at Sri Lanka on November 04.
- An international one month training workshop on “Communication on HIV/AIDS” held at South Africa was attended by Project coordinator-SACHET.
- An international Training workshop on “Monitoring on HIV/AIDS” projects at Bangladesh was attended by SACHET representative SACHET.

- SACHET organized and facilitated a first national workshop on the issue of Dowry in collaboration with Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan by inviting justices from all four provinces and other stakeholders related to judiciary and parliament by recommending certain changes in the existing dowry law.
- An International youth conference on “Youth and promotion of Human development” was held at Islamabad attended by around 100 Delegates.
- Performed two theatre plays “Chat” & “Tamasha” in the International Youth Conference focusing on youth development and civic will and to highlight youthfulness and lesson the perceived gap vis-à-vis cultural differences between west and east
- YAN (youth Advocacy network) was established to advocate young people’s sexual and reproductive health rights. Till now more than 200 young girls & boys are active members of YAN.
- SACHET focused more of its efforts to improve sexual and reproductive health of people in its community development areas.
- SACHET was selected through a competitive process to implement RHIYA (Reproductive Health initiative for Youth in Asia) project in Chakwal district, thus resulting in the first collaborative project with international donor agencies.
- SACHET participated in the launching ceremony of RHIYA (Reproductive Health initiative for Youth in Asia) project at Bangladesh.
- SACHET introduced communities to people living with HIV/AIDS by organizing a series of ten interactive theatre performances in Islamabad & Rawalpindi from 3rd to 9th December.
- SACHET for the first time presented a theatre performance on HIV/AIDS titled “Dosti” at Islamabad club by targeting decision makers and influential stakeholders at the occasion of World AIDS day.
- SACHET sent its employee to an international training workshop on “Advocacy on reproductive Health” held at Thailand from 17-31 August with support of LDM (Leadership development mechanism).
